God’s Twin Blessings: Salvation & Healing

Isaiah 53:5 – But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed (NKJV).

  1. Before the Messiah (the Christ) came, the human race was divided between two groups:
  2. Israel – those with a covenant with God
  3. Gentiles – those without a covenant with God

  1. After Christ came, the human race is still divided, but the two groups have changed:
  2. The Church – born-again believers who have an eternal covenant with God
  3. The world – those who have an eternal a covenant with Satan by default.
  4. Satan is the god of this world.

2 Corinthians 4:4 – whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them (NKJV)

  1. When Jesus was ministering on the earth, as recorded in the Gospels, He healed both Jews and non-Jews.

  1. Jesus rebuked the unbelieving Jews – Matthew 15:1-20
  2. He quoted Isaiah:

Matthew 15:8,9
8 “‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.

9 “‘And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men’” (NKJV).

  1. Then Jesus healed a Gentile girl because of her mother’s faith – Matthew 15:24-30.

Matthew 15:28 – Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour (NKJV).

Mark 7:29 Then He said to her, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter” (NKJV).

  1. All the blessings for Christians begin with confessing Jesus as Lord.

Romans 10:9,10
9
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (NKJV).
