We Can’t Let Ourselves Be Distracted While Running Our Race

  1. Let us lay aside distractions, weights, and sins.

Hebrews 12:1,2
1
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (NKJV).

  1. We can be hindered from completing our assignments. Healing and health issues are a major distraction.

1 Thessalonians 2:18 – Therefore we wanted to come to you--even I, Paul, time and again--but Satan hindered us (NKJV).

  1. We all benefit from God’s gifts if we have our focus fixed on Him.

1 Corinthians 12:1,7-10
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant…

7 …the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,

9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,

10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues (NKJV).

  1. We overcome the devil’s opposition before the Courts of Heaven when walking with the Lord in victory is the focus of our lives.

Revelation 12:10,11
10
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death (NKJV).
