Christ the Healer Dwells in You

Ephesians 3:17a –… that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith (NKJV).

In Ephesians, Paul is addressing born-again believers.

In his greeting:

Ephesians 1:13 – In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (NKJV).

In his first prayer for them:

Ephesians 1:15,16
15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints,

16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers (NKJV).

In his second prayer for them:

Ephesians 3:14,15
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named (NKJV).

Paul recognizes that we can all grow to great spiritual heights beyond our basic salvation.

There is an anointing available for wisdom and revelation.

Ephesians 1:17 – that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him (NKJV).

Spiritual understanding is available.

Ephesians 1:18 – the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints (NKJV).

God’s power is available.

Ephesians 1:19,20
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places (NKJV).

Paul knew that internal strength and awareness was available.

Your soul can be made strong.

Ephesians 3:16 – that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man (NKJV).

You can be completely aware of the tangible presence of Christ in your spirit (the real you).

Ephesians 3:17 – that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love… (NKJV).

Paul knew that we could walk in the understanding of the magnitude of the Father’s greatness and Christ’s love.

Ephesians 3:18,19
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--

19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (NKJV).

Paul knew that we can never exhaust God’s great abilities.

Ephesians 3:20,21
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen (NKJV).
