Focus on the Word Only – and Be Healed
- Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.
Hebrews 12:2 – … looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (NKJV).
a. We look to Jesus like the children of Israel had to look at the copper serpent on the pole.
Numbers 21:8,9
8 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”
9 So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived (NKJV).
b. Jesus is a fulfillment of the type of the serpent (sin) lifted up on the pole (tree or cross).
2 Corinthians 5:21 – For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (NKJV).
- Receiving a miracle healing is like walking on water.
Matthew 14:28,29
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus (NKJV).
a. Peter began to sink when he got his eyes (attention) off of Jesus (the Word).
Matthew 14:30 – But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” (NKJV).
b. Jesus extended grace even in the midst of Peter’s doubt.
Matthew 14:31 – And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (NKJV).
c. In order to get back into the boat, Peter and Jesus had a glory walk.
Matthew 14:32,33
32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God” (NKJV).
- The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you.
Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you (NKJV).
- If God did not spare His own Son in order to save you, why would He not – with Him – also heal you?
Romans 8:31,32
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (NKJV).
We never take a faith break while we are in the midst of receiving a miracle!
