Are Tongues for Today?

The Bible speaks of the baptism of the Holy Spirit in Acts 1-2.

Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He told His followers to wait in Jerusalem until they received “the promise of the Father.” He told them they would be baptized with the Holy Spirit and would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them. Ten days later, the Holy Spirit came into the room and the disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues. This opened a flood of supernatural power to them – Peter immediately preached an astonishing sermon and 3,000 people were born again.

Have you ever wondered about if you can be baptized in the Holy Spirit – and speak in tongues like those in the early Church did?

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). As you explore key scriptures in this video concerning this essential spiritual gift from the Father, faith will rise in your heart, and you will receive!

FAQ’s about tongues.

Why speak in tongues if no one can understand you?

The Bible tells us that God can understand us when we speak in tongues.

1 Cor. 14:2 says: For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

We know God can understand every language spoken all around the world, as well as ancient languages that are no longer spoken. God understands it when we speak in tongues.

Why would God give us this miraculous language?

Romans 8:26-27 says: Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

There are times we just don’t know how to pray as we should. The Bible says that at those times, the Holy Spirit helps us. He Himself actually prays for us with words we don’t understand. The Holy Spirit is praying a perfect prayer for us according to the will of God.
