A.            Faith Keys:

1.      Don’t fear, only believe.

Mark 5:36 – As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe” (NKJV).

2.      If you can believe, all things are possible to those who believe.

Mark 9:23 – Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes” (NKJV).

B.            Faith Steps:

1.      Hear from Him

Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (NKJV).

How to hear from Him:

a.         For illumination of the Word:
meditation –> illumination

b.         For personal revelation:
prayer, fasting, worship with thanksgiving

2.      Do what He says:
(This includes praying the prayer of faith.)

a.         Acknowledge that you have God’s faith.

In Mark 11:22, Jesus says, “Have the faith of God.” Unfortunately, most translations say, “Have faith in God.” There is a massive difference between our beliefs and philosophies about God and God’s persuasion about us! God’s belief in you gives substance to your faith. Jesus is what God believes about you. Your belief in God does not define him; his faith in what he knows to be true about you defines you (MIRROR).

b.         Take authority over the mountains.

Mark 11:23 – “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says” (NKJV).

c.         Believe you receive at the time you pray.

Mark 11:24 – “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (NKJV).

d.         Walk in forgiveness to all.

Mark 11:25 –“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses” (NKJV).

3.      Hold fast your profession of faith while God does the miracle.

a.          This is your pro-active stance while God is at work in the invisible realm.

b.          Then the miracle comes for you to possess it.

C.            Don’t tell God how to do His job!

1.      The nobleman from Capernaum came to Jesus in Cana, to ask Him to heal his son who was at the point of death.

John 4:46-49
46 So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.

47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”

49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!” (NKJV).

2.      The nobleman was trying to tell Jesus how to do His job.

3.      Naaman the Leper tried to do this too. See 2 Kings 5:1-16.

4.      Jesus must have heard the Father say, “Don’t go. Just tell him to go back home, his son lives.”

John 4:50 – Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way (NKJV).

5.      Jesus, the living Word, sent His word and healed the man’s son.

Psalm 107:20 – He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions (NKJV).

6.      The nobleman believed Jesus’ words and headed for home. Still, any parent can imagine the mental struggle that he had during his one-day journey back to his hometown.

7.      When he reached home, his servants met him with the good news that His son was alive.

John 4:51-53
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”

52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”

53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household. (NKJV).
