From Faith to Faith and Glory to Glory

You can go from faith to faith and from glory to glory, but you can’t
fake it ‘til you make it!

1.      Our understanding of our right standing with God, through the work of Jesus Christ, grows from one level of faith to the next level of faith.

Romans 1:16,17
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith” (NKJV).

2.      Walking through life with Jesus brings a consciousness of sanctification happening in us, as we continue to observe His holiness by the light of God shining into our hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:4-6, 17-18
4 And we have such trust through Christ toward God.

5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord (NKJV).

3.      This is the only way that faith in God’s words pertaining to His grace-filled blessings and promises continues to grow in our hearts.

Romans 10:16,17
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (NKJV).

4.      Israel refused faith & glory.

Numbers 14:26-30, 34, 39-43
26 And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

27 “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me.

28 “Say to them, ‘As I live,’ says the LORD, ‘just as you have spoken in My hearing, so I will do to you:

29 ‘The carcasses of you who have complained against Me shall fall in this wilderness, all of you who were numbered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.

30 ‘Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.

34 ‘According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days, for each day you shall bear your guilt one year, namely forty years, and you shall know My rejection.

39 Then Moses told these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned greatly.

40* And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Here we are, and we will go up to the place which the LORD has promised, for we have sinned!”

41 And Moses said, “Now why do you transgress the command of the LORD? For this will not succeed.

42 “Do not go up, lest you be defeated by your enemies, for the LORD is not among you.

43 “For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword; because you have turned away from the LORD, the LORD will not be with you”(NKJV).

Deuteronomy 1:40-45
40 “‘But as for you, turn and take your journey into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.’

41 “Then you answered and said to me, ‘We have sinned against the LORD; we will go up and fight, just as the LORD our God commanded us.’ And when everyone of you had girded on his weapons of war, you were ready to go up into the mountain.

42 “And the LORD said to me, ‘Tell them, “Do not go up nor fight, for I am not among you; lest you be defeated before your enemies.”’

43 “So I spoke to you; yet you would not listen, but rebelled against the command of the LORD, and presumptuously went up into the mountain.

44 “And the Amorites who dwelt in that mountain came out against you and chased you as bees do, and drove you back from Seir to Hormah.

45 “Then you returned and wept before the LORD, but the LORD would not listen to your voice nor give ear to you” (NKJV).

5.      Let us not be like these who refused God’s plan! Let us continue to keep our eyes focused on Jesus – the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
