Jesus Is God’s Special Healing Son – A Gift to the Church

God has always been the Healer. He made us; He can remake us!

Psalm 103:2,3
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:

3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases (NKJV).

God gave a special healing anointing to His only begotten Son, the Son of God, the Son of Man.

Acts 10:38 – “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (NKJV).

Jesus established the pattern of ministry and then called on His disciples to pray for more laborers to do the same thing.

Matthew 9:35-38
35
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

38 “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (NKJV).

We are called to minister this same healing power – after reminding the people of the following:

Isaiah 53:4,5

4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed (NKJV).

Matthew 8:16,17
16
When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,

17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses” (NKJV).

1 Peter 2:21-25
21
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

22 “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;

23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.

25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. (NKJV).

2 Corinthians 5:14-17
14
For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;

15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (NKJV).

Acts 4:29,30
29
 Now, Lord, look on their threats and grant that Your servants may speak Your word with great boldness,

30 by stretching out Your hand to heal and that signs and wonders may be performed in the name of Your holy Son Jesus.” (MEV)
