Introduction: What you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth will determine whether or not you receive miracles.
Proverbs 6:2 – “You are snared by the words of your mouth” (NKJV).
- Throughout the years, Christianity has been referred to as “the Great Confession.”
Hebrews 3:1 – “the… High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus…” (NKJV).
- “Profession” is the word used here in the KJV. People have often referred to believers as “professing Christians.”
- The Greek word homologia means “to say the same thing.” In our case, “to say the same thing as God.”
- We know that we need to be convinced by God about what His perspective is.
- When we agree with God and His Word about anything and say it out of our mouths, Jesus, our High Priest and Mediator, relays to God the Father what we believe and say.
- This means we have a choice: we can agree with God about everything in life: our sin, our sickness, our apparent failures; and our righteousness, our divine health, our victories – or we can argue with Him about these things.
- You have a covenant with God. Consider answering every temptation to doubt with God’s covenant words.
From Dr. T.L. Osborn:
“You shall serve the Lord your God, and [He] will take sickness away from the midst of you” (Exodus 23:25), because He promised, “I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). God’s Word says, “He heals all your diseases” (Psalm 103:3). Jesus Christ has redeemed you from your diseases, because “He Himself took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses” (Matthew 8:17) at the whipping post (Matthew 27:26; John 19:1) and therefore, “by His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24).
You do exactly as Christ, your example, did when tempted by Satan in the wilderness: you say, “Satan, it is written” (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10) then you quote him the Word: “By His stripes I am healed. He heals all my diseases. Christ Himself took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses” (Isaiah 53:5; Psalm 103:3; Matthew 8:17).
- Put your faith in action before you need it and after an attack of the enemy comes.
- Rise up in the authority given you by Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church.
- Take this as an example:
Colossians 1:13,14
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (NKJV).
Conclusion: Remember, God is not always the God of the 11:59 hour. Sometimes He is the God of 12:10 – like when Jairus’ daughter died and Jesus said, “Fear not, only believe.”
When we think, “It’s too late,” God says, “I still have a plan.”
