Receive Healing By Your Own Faith!

  1. Questions:
  2. Do I need to have my own faith in order to be healed?
  3. Can I be healed through someone else’s faith?

Answer: Being healed by someone else’s faith is the scriptural exception, not the rule

LCU advises you to abide by the rule rather than the exception.

  1. Question: Is that why most prayer chains seldom see the desired result?

Answer: If you don’t know whether the person needing something from God is in faith for it, you have nothing to agree with.

  1. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit desire that every born-again child of God knows:
  2. That God has made you more than a conqueror
  3. That you have power over the devil, over sickness and disease.
  4. If you will rise up in your faith and authority, and will rebuke your sickness, disease, or impairment, you will begin to see your symptoms melt away.
  5. Though it is true that “we walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Cor. 5:7), it is also true that faith can be seen, heard, and perceived.

In most cases, Jesus did not heal anyone until after He had obtained the person’s demonstration of faith, confession of faith, or had perceived their faith by the Spirit.

  1. Faith that is heard:
  2. Two blind men

Matt. 9:27-30
27 When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”

28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”

29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”

30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “See that no one knows it” (NKJV).

  1. Woman whose daughter was demonically oppressed

Matt. 15:22-28
22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”

23 But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”

24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”

26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour (NKJV).

  1. Blind man

Mark 10:51,52
51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”

52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road (NKJV).

  1. Leper who returned to glorify God

Luke 17:15-19
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,

16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

18 “Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”

19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well” (NKJV).

  1. Jairus’ daughter

Mark 5:21-23, 35,36
21 Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea.

22 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet

23 and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.”

35 While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”

36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe” (NKJV).

  1. Man with a possessed son

Mark 9:21-24
21 So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.

22 “And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” (NKJV).

  1. Faith that is seen
  2. Woman with the issue of blood (she had been saying)

Mark 5:25-29, 34
25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years,

26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.

27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment.

28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.

34 And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction”(NKJV).

  1. Paralyzed man carried by his friends

Mark 2:3-5, 10-12
3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.

4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.

5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”

10 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” --He said to the paralytic,

11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!””(NKJV).

  1. Centurion on behalf of his servant

Matt. 8:5-10,13
5 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,

6 saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”

7 And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

8 The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

9 “For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour (NKJV).

Luke 7:1-7
1 Now when He concluded all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum.

2 And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die.

3 So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant.

4 And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving,

5 “for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue.”

6 Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, “Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof.

7 “Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed (NKJV).

  1. Faith that is perceived
  2. We can assume many people had faith to be healed, though the Bible does not express it, but clearly Jesus could not heal many when there was more unbelief than faith.

Mark 6:1-6
1 Then He went out from there and came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him.

2 And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!

3 “Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” And they were offended at Him.

4 But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.”

5 Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them.

6 And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching (NKJV).

  1. If the Apostles could perceive someone’s faith, we can be sure that Jesus could.

Acts 14:8-10
8 And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked.

9 This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed,

10 said with a loud voice, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked (NKJV).

  1. Since Jesus said, “Fear not, only believe, if you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes,” we can believe Him when He says:

Matt. 7:7,8
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened (NKJV).

  1. Jesus also said:

John 15:7 – “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you (NKJV).

Mark 11:24 – “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them (NKJV).

Believe it; speak it; ask for it; receive it!
