The Healing Words of the Lord

1. Healing comes from accepting and believing God’s Word.

 

Proverbs 4:20-22
20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.

21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;

22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh (NKJV).

Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (NKJV).

John 8:31, 32
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (NKJV).

 

2. Jesus included healing with our salvation.

 

Isaiah 53:4,5
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed (NKJV).

Matthew 8:16,17
16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,

17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses” (NKJV).

1 Peter 2:24 – Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed (NKJV).

 

3. New Testament healing power comes from Jesus.

Matthew 12:15 – But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all (NKJV).

Matthew 14:35,36
35 They sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick,

36 and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well (NKJV).

Luke 6:19 – And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all (NKJV).

 

4. A life filled with healing and health is a good life!

 

Psalm 91:16 – “With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation” (NKJV).

John 10:10 –“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (NKJV).

Luke 5:15 – However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities (NKJV)

 

5. Our faith is established in God’s power.

 

1 Corinthians 2:1,4,5
1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.

4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God (NKJV).

 

2 Timothy 4:7 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith (NKJV).

 

John 14:26 – “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (NKJV).

 

Luke 17:19 – And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well” (NKJV).
